How Our Church Operates
We are "Elder led, Congregationally Affirmed"
While most churches would favor one of three Biblical models of church government,
or polity:
1. Pastoral Rule (the "anointed man" Moses motif)
2. Elder Rule (N.T. "plurality of leadership" model)
3. Congregational Rule ("priesthood of believer")
we have blended all three in an effort to better "discern the mind of Christ"
on any matter, since He alone is "Head of the Church". The Pastor
serves as lead Elder among the Elders as they try to unanimously discern the
will of God in any given matter, and then bring it to the church family to see
if they "bear witness" or not.
We believe "Every member is a minister"
Ephesians 4:11-12 is very clear in stating that rather than doing all the work
of the ministry, Pastors and leaders were given by God to the church for the
"equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of
the body of Christ." We have four areas of service:
Elders & Deacons
Elders oversee the spiritual dynamics of the church.
Deacons handle physical tasks & projects.
Teaching Staff
These men and women are carefully chosen to teach our Bible studies from birth
to senior adults.
Committee Teams
Open only to members, these include Finance, Personnel, Audit, Ordinance & Teller.
Ministry Teams
Open to any regular attendee, these include all education, music, activities
& projects ministries.
