Sunday mornings at our church are times of re-connections! Young families, seniors, singles, families with teens–all gather in a casual, loving, non-judgmental environment. The Praise Team with it’s guitars and keyboards and drums and bass are playing and inviting those gathering in the hallways to make their way into our sanctuary. Families with nursery age children are dropping their little ones off in our loving nursery while others, dressed from jeans to shorts to khakis to coats and ties (hey, it’s Florida!) enter the Sanctuary and gather in the chairs and mingle with one another waiting for the service to start.
There’s plenty of singing, expressions of worship, announcements, and a time on stage where children gather for a story from the Pastor. The children are then dismissed to our “children’s church” where a message, just for them, is presented.
In the main sanctuary, the rest of us are preparing ourselves to connect–getting ready to meet the One who made this day–the One who desires our relationship, the One we long for–the One who has the answers we lack–the One that we know we need to get back to.
Our Pastor, in a casual, relational way, teaches from the Bible–the Word of God–and offers to us those things that God himself has been showing him from the Bible that are relevant to us here in the 21st Century. He, another person on the journey of life, giving us the insights that God has revealed to him through the scriptures after 30 years of ministry.
After a time of reflection and prayer, we’re dismissed to impact our community for the Kingdom of God. Immediately after the early service, we have Bible Study groups for all ages. There’s a place for young children, teens, college and career age people, young couples, Spanish speaking folks, and a variety of adult groups that are topical in nature.
Many families gather for meals after the church services and many meet one another throughout the week in “small group” settings that are informal. Many of our folks also re-connect on Wednesday night where we have a church wide dinner just before the evening’s events. Wednesday nights are filled with events for families with young children through college age young people. It's connections, it's friendliness, it's the Word of God, it's life!
